WHAT IT IS
What neuro-optometric rehab actually is.
The visual system gets a disproportionately large portion of the brain’s processing resources. When that system is disrupted — commonly after concussion, TBI, or with vestibular dysfunction — the cascade of downstream symptoms (headaches, fatigue, motion intolerance, reading problems, balance issues) can be severe. Neuro-optometric rehabilitation specifically targets the oculomotor control, binocular coordination, and gaze stability systems.
WHAT A SESSION LOOKS LIKE
What a session looks like.
Sessions include controlled saccade and smooth-pursuit training, convergence/divergence work, gaze-stabilization exercises, and visual-motion habituation as indicated. The exercises look simple from the outside; they are exhausting to do well. Sessions are paced to avoid symptom flare.
